Cupcakes as far as the eye can see...

This will be my second alcohol-free cupcake post in a row!  That’s some sort of record, I am sure.  These cupcakes were for the same baby shower as the previous Almond and Vanilla ones.  Frankly, there’s not too much creativity going on here, as I jacked Gibb’s Brown Sugar Cupcake recipe once again, and I’m stealing my own Peanut Butter Mousse.  Add some jelly in the middle, and you have a peanut butter and jelly cupcake :) (more…)

Sugar coma yeah yeah

Happy mediums?  They are not my thing.  That explains not only this blog, I suspect, but also my propensity to think that 15+ miles in a hilly city is a reasonable distance to travel by bicycle.  That explains why I passed out on a book at 8:45 last night, because making 3 batches of cupcakes is not, in fact, that exhausting.

For Christmas, my father got me a Sprinkles banana cupcake mix.  When Gibbs was visiting, we decided a perfect use for this would be an Elvis cupcake.  What is that, do you ask?  Why, banana, peanut butter, and chocolate, of course!  Results as follows:

Crunch Peanut Butter cupcakes with a Dark Chocolate Ganache

Fun fact: I made three dozen wicked awesome cupcakes yesterday with my associate, M. Ducksworth, and thus this will be a three-part post, including a re-do of the lemon blueberry cupcakes that turned out AWESOMELY, and really attractive.  That sentence had a lot of clauses.  Hooray for cycling endorphins!

(Most of) These cupcakes made their eventual way into the bellies of some delightful activists who go out and canvass throughout the city, educating about issues ranging from health care for kids living in poverty to marriage equality.  So yay for them, they’re neat.
