It is officially winter, the days are officially growing longer, the rain is in it’s two most prolific months and I can look forward to fresh produce.
In the meantime,
-My full-scale feeding myself fresh produce project
This project involves fairly intricate planning with bed preparation, amending soil, hardening off seedlings, and indoor and outdoor starts, and figuring out how to deal with hot-weather crops like eggplants.
In general, a prolific imagination has spawned more cupcakes than I can remember, and this morning I decided I needed to write these things down.
So here we are. I suppose this is a kind of New Year’s Resolution about Cupcakes I Really Want To Make.
Red Wine Cupcakes: I think a very sweet red wine paired with cream cheese frosting could be very exciting
Lavender Cupcakes: I’ve been toying with this idea for some time, and I think I have some pretty good ideas for what I want to do with this. These will definitely wait until such time as the lavender has started blooming here in the PNW, but that gives me plenty of time to think about how I want to do this
Blackberry Cupcakes: I have a few ideas for how to make some really interesting cupcakes that incorporate blackberries in unexpected ways
Another go at Mojito Cupcakes: Providing the rum lasts that long, anyways. I have some idea for how to get the rummy flavor to be more pronounced that I think will work well
Carrot-related: If all goes well, I’m going to be up to my ears in Oxheart Carrots, and given my love for cream cheese frosting, I see this only going to delicious places.
Butter-Pecan Whiskey Cupcakes: Or something more inventive than chocolate whiskey
Chocolate Basil: preliminary investigation says this might be exciting as well, especially with some of the more exciting varieties of basil.
Salted Chocolate Cupcakes: These I’m incredibly excited to make. They’re inspired by chocolate MNAA had, and I’ve started research into this and have relatively extensive notes on how to go about doing what I want to with these cupcakes. I think they’ll appear before the end of January
That’s it for now, but I imagine I’ll be adding more as I think of them. Please leave any suggestions in the comments at The To-Do List.
